i saw a hamster on MAX X last night, actually, i think there were two! one was a black and white hamster that was running a race, he had to jump over little hamster hurdles,,, it was so nimble and perky... another clip showed a hamster being rescued from a sewer drain! i guess he fell down a sink drain and they called the firemen and they rescued him. he was a soggy mess but was alive. POOR THING! maybe hamsters have nine lives too. ; )
well i'm happy to report that i have had NO escaped hamsters lately. mochi was the only one that escaped (like, twice now) but the secure lid on her cage seems to have done the trick. that little skunk (she's black and white) dwarf seems to be happy despite being confined,,, i cleaned cages yesterday and she was up at 1pm, bright eyes and ready to play. the hamsters all get to run in their balls while i clean the cages, and this time mochi had somehow broken through the shoe barriers and was hidden somewhere. even when she's in her ball she tries to escape!!! anyway she was under the piano in a dark spot, stuck between the bench and the piano leg. that little squirt.
i made tofu stir fry last night so they all got a tiny bit of "japanese jello"... lol. they also all got some green pepper, the inside seedy parts, they love that stuff. stardust, when she got her portion, didn't seem as interested as the others. she was impatient and wanted OUT. so we played with her for a half hour and then let her run in the ball for another half hour or so. but when she got back to her cage she went NUTS over the green pepper. she had worked up an apetite for sure. she's so CUTE, for some reason she moved her sleeping den into the top area of the critter trail. how odd. maybe it's cooler up there, as it's been so hot in LA lately.
at any rate, i keep the window opened a crack and it seems to be cool enough. hopefully the hams will be chillin in the crib before long,,, this summer heat wave has got to break.
patches sprawls out on the floor of his aquarium after pushing away all the bedding. he's so cute. i took some pics of him snoozing in his TP tube, i shall try to post them on the hamster log.i really have to redo that whole site.. ugh.
